In Komi-Permyak, causation with transitive verbs (2) is usually expressed using a periphrastic construction, where the main verb čöktyny ’order’ combines with a non-finite form of the content verb. In comparison, causative forms of intransitive verbs are derived with the help of the causative suffix -t- (1), a non-periphrastic means of deriving causatives using a morphological strategy (cf. Bradley et al. 2022).
