(Komi-Permyak)

IntrCeeAccP

IntrCeeAccP: The causee appears in the same form as the patient of a non-causative transitive construction.

(1)ivanuź-ö.
Ivansleeps3SG
’Ivan is sleeping.’ (L. P.)

(2)mam-ysuźö-t-öivan-sö.
mother3SGsleepCAUS3SGIvanACC.3SG
’The mother is putting Ivan to bed.’ (L. P.)

In Komi-Permyak the causative form of intransitive verbs is derived by the addition of the causative suffix -t- (cf. Bartens 2000: 288–291). The causer is always in nominative case, and the causee, similarly to the object of a transitive verb, in accusative (2) (cf. Bradley et al. 2022).
