Nom: Two categories are distinguished from a morphosyntactic perspective: 1. Sa, Snona, Aa and Anona; 2. P This type is known as nominative or nominative–accusative.

Komi-Permyak is a nominative language (cf. Ponomareva 2002). The pronominal S argument of intransitive verbs (1) and the pronominal A argument of transitive verbs (2) have nominative case. Certain verbs that are technically transitive (e.g. those with a causative suffix) have only one, accusative argument (for more on this see F. Gulyás 2016: 171–175).
