NDef

NDef: The definite article follows the noun or NP.

(1)talunpogoďďaöďďönbur,šondi-ys jugjal-ö.
todayweatherverygoodsun3sgshineprs.3sg
’The weather is very good today, the sun is shining.’ (V. E.)

Komi-Permyak grammars do not include an independent category for articles, however, it is pointed out that third person singular possessive suffixes (Px), or, less commonly, second person ones, can be used with a determinative function (cf. Bartens 2000: 122–123, Batalova 2002: 71–72). This Px can be understood as an affixal article in certain cases (1). That is, in this language the article follows the noun or NP when present.
