In Komi-Permyak the root is usually followed by the possessive suffix, case markers appear after that (1)–(2). In locative cases the possessive marker merges with the case marker under a synchronic perspective (3) – taking a diachronic perspective we can say it follows it (cf. Bartens 2000: 116–118, Rédei 1978: 63, Ponomareva 2010). In other case forms the possessive suffix follows the case marker (4).
