In Komi-Permyak, oblique-headed relative clauses are the most commonly expressed using finite subordinate clauses (cf. Lobanova 2017: 90–91), be it for genitive (1), comparative (2), dative (3)–(4), or other oblique case functions such as comitative (5)–(6). When the head noun is external to the relative clause (1)–(3), (5), its form is determined by its role in the main clause, with a relative pronoun appearing in the subordinate clause marked for the role it has there. Head nouns with a dative (4) or comitative function (6) can also be relative clause internal with a coreferential pronoun in the main clause (L. P., V. E.).
