Komi-Permyak has both synthetic and analytic means of expressing future reference. In Komi-Permyak, synthetic present (1) and future (2) forms differ only in third person (Bartens 2000: 179–181). Apart from these, future time can be expressed by a construction combining the inflected future form of the verb pondyny ’begin’ with an infinitive (3)–(4) (Ponomareva 2002: 132–134, 2010: 266–267, Lobanova 2017: 37).
