In Meadow Mari dependent content questions, the main clause can precede or follow the subordinate clause. In case it precedes it the subordinate clause follows the main clause without a complementizer, and the structure of the dependent question does not differ from that of independent interrogatives. In case the main clause follows the dependent clause an optional complementiser man(ən) ’that’ (lit. ’said’) may be present.
