In Meadow Mari the plural suffix -mət can be used with names of people, kinship terms or any group of people associated with the referent. Its meaning is identical with the Hungarian plural suffix -ék, that is ‘the referent person and the group associated with him/her’ (Riese et al. 2022: 59).
