In Udmurt postpositions following nouns typically take no person marking (1). However, when the noun is a possessee, person marking indicating possession appears either on the noun (2) or on the postposition after the noun (3) (Perevoshchikov 1962: 317). There exist postpositions that cannot have person marking even in this case (4).
