ZeroIntr: Avalent verbs, characterized by being able to form a non-elliptical, grammatical clause without a single argument, exist as a subclass of intransitive verbs.

snow.3SG
’It is snowing.’ (Perevoshchikov et al. 1962: 191)

(2)zore.
rain.3SG
’It is raining.’ (ibid.)

(3)kuaźzore.
weatherrain.3SG
’It is raining.’ (F. Gulyás 2016: 135)

A group of verbs in Udmurt – most typically weather verbs – has no obligatory overt argument (1), (2) (F. Gulyás 2016: 134–135). (Sometimes, however, the nouns kuaź ’weather’, inbam ‘sky or Inmar ‘god’ can appear as the subject of such verbs (3) (ibid).)
